Ready, Set, Go! It's Kitten Season!

The ROCK STAR Kittens
Elton John and Stevie Nicks were recently rescued by caring individuals at the Albany Rock Pit, the Capital Districts All New Music School. These two tiny kittens, just two weeks old, were left behind, all alone. The dangerous heat wave posed a serious threat to their survival. Today, Elton and Stevie snuggle comfortably in the Orange Street Cats (OSC) incubator, where their foster moms tend to them around the clock, bottle-feeding them with care.

A big shout out to our friends at the Albany Rock Pit for rocking this rescue! And a special note of appreciation to our dear friend Tess Collins for doing what she does so well, making the connection to save their lives!

Addison's Story

A compassionate young woman reached out to Orange Street Cats (OSC) with an urgent plea to help a little kitten. The kitten’s eyes were glued shut due to infection. OSC volunteers promptly picked up the kitten, administering warm compresses, ointment, fluids, and nourishing food. Already, the sweet little one, whom we’ve named Addison, shows signs of improvement. Tomorrow, we’ll schedule a vet appointment and continue providing plenty of tender loving care.

Yesterday, Jenn and Ray performed a heroic act—they rescued two young kittens from a perilous ditch dangerously close to a 55mph roadway. These tiny kittens, that they named Tommy and Ryan, are now safe, nestled in a comfortable place with nourishing food, water, and medication.
Even as we write this post, we’re trying to figure out how to help a new situation we just learned about with a mom cat and four kittens discovered in a garage. The urgent need to rescue homeless cats and kittens is beyond overwhelming. We rely on compassionate supporters like you to make a difference.
Exciting News! A generous benefactor has pledged to match the next $2,500 in donations. Your contribution will be doubled! Please consider clicking the link below to make a donation today.
Our Goal: We’ve raised the bar for our ongoing fund drive: $20,000. This ensures that every cat and kitten receive the vital medical care they deserve. And guess what? We’re more than halfway there!
Last year, our OSC family saved 83 kittens, many requiring critical medical attention. With your unwavering support, we’re an unstoppable force!
Thank you for being part of this compassionate journey.

Little Belle had a rough start in life, and it was touch and go for her first few weeks. But today, thanks to exceptional medical care and round-the-clock nourishment, Belle is blossoming! She devours her meals like a healthy kitten, her weight steadily climbing. And just this week, she graduated from the life-saving incubator and is ready to join her rowdy brothers -- a testament to her resilience! Belle is here and thriving because of the amazing and caring community of Orange Street Cats supporters!

Little Blue

Seven-week-old Blue seemed fine yesterday morning, and then suddenly she was lethargic, trembling and had a fever. Suzanne, her foster mom, wasted no time getting her to the recently-added Urgent Care Unit of Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS) for testing and treatment. This morning Blue is back with her foster family and seems much better. She continues to receive fluids and medication.

Kittens are cute but they are also incredibly fragile. Their health can take a sudden turn. Thanks to you and Orange Street Cats (OSC) supporters, we are prepared to get them the urgent medical care they need.

Your generosity ensures that we remain ready to respond to illnesses and injuries, to give kittens like Blue their best chance. Thank you for your compassion and for being a part of our life-saving mission. Together, we make a difference.

Hannah Update: Last night, the veterinarian at UVS skillfully sutured Hannah’s severe scalp wound and tended to minor injuries on her neck and back. Today, Hannah is resting comfortably in a loving foster home, where she’ll receive all the care she needs to heal and recuperate. Hannah is understandably shaken by her ordeal, and she’ll need time, which we are committed to providing, along with a lot of love.
You and OSC supporters make it possible to rescue injured cats like Hannah who need urgent medical care. The outpouring of support for this sweet cat is amazing and we are grateful for your generous contributions. And a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who took a moment to share our Facebook posts.

We interrupt our kitten season fund drive to request your help for a seriously injured cat.

A good Samaritan rushed this this sweet girl to the emergency vet this afternoon with a scalp injury too graphic to post. Would OSC help? We said yes, but we can't do it alone. We are calling on you and our incredible community of OSC supporters to ask that, if you can, please make a donation today.

We named this nice girl Hannah, and she’s at the vet right now having that large, horrible scalp wound cleaned and closed. The estimate is $1,600, and the amazing news is that we have a generous benefactor who has pledged to match donations up to $500, DOUBLING the impact of your donation! We don’t know how this injury happened, but we do know that Hannah is now safe and getting the medical care she needs.

Thank you for caring about the kittens and being willing to help save cats in need of critical care, like Hannah. Your donations make a lasting difference. Together we can save lives.

Where did these little guys come from?

A compassionate woman discovered four tiny kittens in need. She patiently waited for their mother to return, but when it became clear that the little ones required nourishment, she reached out to Orange Street Cats for assistance. Our dedicated volunteers sprang into action, rescuing the kittens promptly, gently warming them, and providing nourishment.

Among the four, two struggled—weak and having difficulty latching. Concerned for their well-being, we took them to Central Veterinary Hospital first thing. Thankfully, Kendra, one of the skilled vet techs, stepped in, offering round-the-clock care by taking the two kittens, (Belle and Weston pictured above),into her own home. Today, they are back in our foster care, eating better and growing stronger.

Kitten season is here, and your donation is a lifeline for these precious lives. Our ambitious goal is to raise $15,000, and the good news is that a generous benefactor has pledged to match all donations (up to $5,000), effectively doubling your impact!

OSC Supporters, your kindness and unwavering commitment create miracles. Together, we’re an unstoppable force! Thank you for being part of this compassionate journey.
